Lara Fabian - Aime (Love)

Here is Lara Fabian's prayer for the world: "Aime" (Love) off off her 2006 live DVD Un Regard 9.

She wrote this song while on a plane ("between heaven and earth" as she puts it) and it reads like a silent plea for all of us to give love more consideration.

Coincidently, I find that the mix of earthy and celestial notes in the song render the urgent message of the song in the most profound and troubling of ways..almost to the point of making the truthness of the emotion too much to bare. But Lara is just that powerful an artist. Below I included a translation of the lyric.

"AIME" (Love)

It is a tender fruit that the universe
And the earth together sow
A divine gift we're being given
If we still believe in this chance
Then life conspires to hand us
The other half of the orange

It is a journey to the core of the flesh
Where war doesn't exist
The proof that each one of our prayers
If sincere will find an answer
Despite the absence
As soon as love makes its way

Love
Life is so beautiful
As soon as you become him or her who loves
The certainty that the other is essential
Will be your rendez-vous
Like a sign from up above

Love
And don't give a damn about hate
Never again should you become
Him or her who pains
Solitude is a cruel and lonely road
Please, remember that love is an "eternal"

It is a caress and we tremble
Together, as we no longer expected
It is a gaze that resembles us
In the face of this stranger
Suddenly tears inundate the hearts
And we touch happiness

Love
Life is so beautiful
As soon as you become him or her who loves
The certainty that the other is essential
Will be your rendez-vous
Like a sign from up above

Love
And don't give a damn about hate
Never again should you become
Him or her who pains
Solitude is a cruel and lonely road
Please remember that love is an "eternal"
I say this to you: love
I say this to you: love
I say this to you: love
